Reno's show career started at the tender age of 7 months with a 1st place win in the 6-9 Puppy
Dog class at the Detroit Kennel Club Benched Show, March 10, 1996, under Mrs. Patricia Laurans. In April, Reno won 3rd
in the 6-9 Puppy Dog class at the USASA National Speciality under Dr. Carmen Battaglia. Reno took his first points by
winning Best of Winners at the Lexington Kennel Club show, August 31, 1996, under Mr. Sam Houston McDonald. On October
13, 1996 At the International Kennel Club of Chicago Reno once again won Best of Winners from the Open Blue class under
Mr. Frank L. Dusek. At the 1997 USASA Nationals, Reno won 3rd place in Bred By Exhibitor under Mr. Robert J. Moore. He
went on to take Best of Winners at the AKC show that followed on April 6, 1997 under Breeder Judge Mrs. Linda Allee
Cassella. Reno finished his title at the Ann Arbor Kennel Club show, April 27, 1997, under Ms. Merrelyn Clark. June 14,
1997 found Reno winning his first Best of Breed under Dr. Harry Smith Jr. Mr Richard Edwin Lake gave Reno his first
group placement the same day. Reno has gone on to win a total of 45 Best of Breed wins and 27 Group placements from
June 1997 to December of 1998. Reno was recognized as #4 Australian Shepherd in
Breed 1998 by the United States Australian Shepherd Association. In 1999 Reno won the Stud Dog class at the USASA National Speciality Marshall, Texas.
February 15, 2000 was the highlight of Reno's career with a Best Of Breed win under Mr. Stanley S. Saltzman at the
Westminster Kennel Club show at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Most recently, Reno won Best Veteran in Sweeps under Breeder Judge Tim Preston
at the 2003 USASA National Specialty.
Reno left us way too soon. Reno passed to the Rainbow Bridge on September 29, 2005.
